Italian East Africa was a former Italian procession made up of Eritrea (Italian colony since 1891), Ethiopia (invaded by Italy from Eritrea in 1935 and annexed in 1936) and Italian Somaliland (under Italian influence since 1889). Founded in 1936, it lasted until British-led colonial forces came into each of the areas in 1941.
